This challenging 18-hole course is 6005-metre / 6567-yard long and features steep fairways and elaborate greens. Calling for a large variety of strokes, it requires a strong and experienced game strategy. Access to this course is limited to members of the Club and their guests, as well as clients of the hotel. It is also the venue for an Open of the Ladies European Tour Access Series, the “Terre Blanche Ladies Open”.
The opening hole starts with a drive demanding precision and proper distance judgement. Keep the ball to the right and try to carry the bunkers to reach the landing area. Be aware: the tree may be blocking your approach shot.
When your drive carries the bunkers it needs to stay short of the heavily undulated left hand fairway which can turn an easy approach into a technically difficult shot.
The green surface is not visible from the tee making proper distance judgement difficult. The pine tree sits at the front left of the green.
A straight par 5. A drive that carries the bunkers may get a good bounce forward on the down slope. Club selection is important when you approach the green well guarded by bunkers front and back.
Don’t be afraid to hit a solid drive into the uphill fairway with a pot bunker guarding the right hand side. The hole levels out once reaching the top of the hill. The green is well guarded by two deep bunkers on the left.
Keep your tee shot towards the left bunker as the fairway slopes right. While playing this demanding hole don’t forget to enjoy the stunning views overlooking the Canton de Fayence.
Accuracy is the key on this hole. Long hitters may be tempted to drive the green, but should keep the risk-reward ratio in mind.
Bunkers and trees frame this seemingly easy hole on all sides. The wind can be an important factor for club selection on this relatively open hole.
Don’t be distracted by the beautiful water features. There is a generous landing area, but your approach leaves little room for error.
Un drive long et précis est nécessaire sur ce trou tout en montée. Un deuxième coup bien placé devant le green vous récompensera peut être d’un joli birdie.
The front right side of the green falls off sharply on this par 3. Club selection is critical and you should be long rather that short.
Don’t try to short-cut this hole. From the intended landing area a relatively simple approach to a generous green should allow for a good birdie chance.
Your tee shot should favor the left side of the fairway and carry the short bunker left. This leaves you a straight forward approach to an uphill green well framed by a huge rock wall and several bunkers.
Know the distance and trust your club. This hole requires an accurate tee shot to a green with slopes that can make putting difficult.
This hole requires a high precision drive to the left hand side of the fairway. If you miss, chances are you won’t get onto this green in two.
Long hitters will be tempted to go for the green, but think twice as trouble awaits. Enjoy the spectacular view from the tee.
A long tee shot towards the right side of the fairway may be caught by the down slope. The second shot to this uphill green faces you with challenging bunkers and ravines.
Beauty, strategy, and a temptation to go for the green in two after a good drive. Be careful, as water guards the right hand side of the fairway and green.
