In 2019, "Le Château" golf course was awarded 12th of the "Best Golf courses in Continental Europe" by Golf World Magazine UK
The 18-hole course is 6616 metres / 7235 yards long and is the most demanding of the two courses. The bunkers and greens enable players to experience the true playing conditions of a championship course. Le Chateau course stands out for its spectacular water features. The course is ranked N°12 in Continental Europe by Golf World. Its lovely hilly spaces are accessible to golfers with a handicap/index under 35.
A tee shot towards the left bunker will set up an approach to a generous landing area that is guarded short and long by bunkers. Distance and club selection are important here.
A spectacular view of waterfalls and Mediterranean rock creek will distract you from the task at hand. This uphill hole will require taking one extra club to ensure you reach the green. Favor the right hand side.
A drive to the right side of the fairway will set up the best angle to approach a green that is well guarded with bunkers. Long second shot.
The bunker on the right hand side is deep and may not be visible from some of the back tee locations. Keep the ball left.
The landing area is generous if you stay short of the fairway bunker. Don’t let the carry over water concern you as most well struck shots will clear easily.
This hole provides a dramatic view of “Le Château” that sits above the green and gave the course it’s name. Don’t let this view distract you from this demanding par 5. Your second shot up the left fairway is the safe play.
This hole may not look difficult, but looks are deceiving. Approach this green from the right side of the hole. Balls hit left of the green will fall off over a rock wall.
Play towards the bridge and choose a club that will leave you short of the creek that runs through the fairway. Consider to hit one extra club to reach the green.
A straight forward par 4 that is all about club selection. Left side of the fairway is the play until reaching the green.
Your choice: to stay short of the right bunker with a long carry over water or get all the way past its corner towards the bunker on the left. This will avoid the large oak tree that sits beside the fairway bunker on the right which is begging to block your shot.
Strategy is the theme here. Your tee shot is down hill and must avoid the rock creek as the fairway cuts away to the right. A shot in the fairway here can yield a try for the green in two. Good Luck!
Long hitters will need to hit an iron off the tee to remain in the wide landing area. From there choose your club carefully since the front of the green falls off sharply.
This is one of the most difficult and beautiful par 5’s you will play anywhere. Your tee shot needs to finish close to the rock wall in order to have a clear shot to the landing area. From there you will need a precise approach to a green that is guarded by a creek in front.
The pin position on this long tilted green determines the best position for your drive. Don’t underestimate the depth of the green.
Don’t let the length fool you on this brilliantly designed short par 3. Your club selection and shot-making skills will be well tested.
A tee shot clearing the bunker will ease your mind until you see the bunkers guarding the front of the green. It will take a perfectly struck approach to bring you safely home.
A visually stunning par 4 to finish your round will not disappoint you. A large rock wall guards the right side of the landing area while anything left of the bunker falls off another rock wall into the woods. A right side approach to the green will bring you safely to the Clubhouse.
