What is the Verdon Gorge?

The Verdon Gorge is a canyon, carved by the river of the same name, located less than 100 kilometres from Terre Blanche. It flows through the Lake of Sainte-Croix, world famous for its pure emerald-green waters.

A sports lover's paradise

Nature lovers and thrill seekers will be bowled over by the variety of activities offered by the gorge. Active souls will jump at the opportunities available: rafting, a must-try activity for any adrenaline junkie, canyoning, climbing and snorkelling.

Breathtaking landscapes

The Verdon Gorge is well known for its vertiginous panoramas. It can be reached by road so its summits are not just for the adventurous. The Route des Crêtes takes you along the canyon, covering 24 km between the villages of La Palud sur Verdon and Castellane. This road is one for both casual sightseers and lovers of the great outdoors, taking you to 14 different viewpoints where the spectacular and unforgettable cliffs of the gorge are revealed in all their glory.
