Confiserie Florian is just a few kilometres from Terre Blanche and lies below the famous village of Gourdon, surrounded by truly majestic scenery. The atmosphere here is soothing; with the plants and trees rustling in the breeze and the gentle murmur of the river as it flows through the Gorges du Loup, it’s the perfect place to unwind and treat yourself to something sweet.
This is a spot with a unique charm - you simply must discover it for yourself!
The taste of tradition
Confiserie Florian began life as a chocolate factory in the port of Nice and was frequently visited by the painter Matisse who became a big fan. It was only in 1949 that the first confectionery shop opened in the Gorges du Loup.
When you’re surrounded by so many sweet treats, resistance is futile! Visit the factory to see how this season’s treats are produced, from start to finish. The confiserie's focus is respect for nature and all that it has to offer so each ingredient is carefully sourced from local producers and farmers.
And of course respect for nature means the use of seasonal produce:
In winter, visitors’ mouths will water at the citrus fruit jams, orange peel dipped in chocolate and other candied fruits.
From spring to summer, it’s all about flowers. Violets, roses, jasmine...all become delicious crystallised flowers.
