Awareness-raising activities

The GEO Certified® Ecolabel

Terre Blanche has been awarded the GEO Certified® (Golf Environment Organization) label, a guarantee of quality and seriousness, offering international visibility to the actions carried out by the Resort.

The GEO Certified® ecolabel is based on the three major pillars of sustainable development: environmental, social and economic, particularly with regard to the two golf courses and the dedicated equipment (Golf Course Maintenance Centre).

Staff training

The personnel, within the framework of an annual training schedule, benefit from a CQP (Certificate of Professional Qualification) training course leading to a diploma.

The teams in charge of operating equipment that may affect the environment (phytosanitary treatments, etc.) receive internal or external training, which is certified by a certificate:

A certiphyto buyer approval

Certiphyto applicator approval

A Certificate of Ability to Drive Specific Equipment (CACES)

The Golf for Biodiversity programme

Terre Blanche has been awarded Silver level certification under the "Golf for Biodiversity" programme and has undertaken a number of actions to promote sound environmental management.

AWARENESS-RAISING ACTIVITIES

Installation of information panels on the golf courses, but also within the staff's living quarters to describe, on 15 specific sites, the operating methods, the measures taken in favour of chiropterans and wildlife, etc.

ORGANIC PLANT PROTECTION PRODUCTS

Use of organic phytosanitary products with a drastic reduction in inputs that have an impact on the environment with the aim of increasing the biodiversity of the golf course.

UNMOWN AREAS

Creation and maintenance of grassland areas rich in arthropods and plants that can increase biodiversity.

Selection of areas that can be maintained as fallow land, such as woodland edges and areas not used for golfing activities.

SHRUB AND TREE STRATA

Protection of wooded edges and creation of refuge areas for microfauna.

DEVELOPMENT OF CHIROPTERAN SHELTERS

The Riou Blanc and Crouis refuges are equipped with facilities in the attic to provide shelter for anthropophilic chiropterans and nocturnal raptors.

The information

To adhere to the eco-sustainable approach is to understand Terre Blanche.

A perfect knowledge of its history, since its creation, is essential to adhere to the eco-sustainable approach and promote it on a daily basis.

With this in mind, Terre Blanche has created an interactive collaborative workspace that provides staff with information documents, such as "Terre Blanche and its History", the Safety Booklet, the Ecology press kit, the suppliers' charter, etc.

Customer awareness

The eco-responsible approach must be global and shared. The Resort's clientele also participates and acts in a virtuous behaviour, a guarantee of success.

To this end, Terre Blanche raises awareness among its guests through a few simple gestures such as:

SIMPLE GESTURES

Limiting the change of sheets and towels (explanatory supports placed in the room and bathroom)

SAVE ENERGY

Turn off lights when leaving a room and close doors and windows

SAVE WATER

Do not let the water run unnecessarily from the tap, shower or bath

Communication

The GPS of the golf carts display any information on the presence of remarkable fauna or flora as the cart passes through the predefined sectors.

Information panels are set up at strategic points so that golfers can find out all the information they need to understand the ecological approach in all its aspects.
